Bakersfield Writers Cult is a friendly cult of craft: a table for writers who want accountability without ego theater, feedback without cruelty, and a path from private draft to public page. The name is theatrical. The work is real.
Devotion, not pressure
We don’t write to fit in. We write to conjure.
A draft is not proof that you are brilliant or broken. It is a signal. The circle gathers around that signal and asks useful questions: what is alive here, what is hiding, what needs pressure, what deserves protection, and what can become stranger, cleaner, funnier, sharper, or more honest.
Rule 02
Every form has a seat.
Fiction, poetry, memoir, scripts, essays, comedy, romance, horror, speculative work, local reporting, fragments, and hybrid things all belong here.
